my thoughts on AoT's ending (Spoiler-Free)
Disclaimer: I did not watch the anime, I read the manga. All references to anime seasons refer to the plot, which I have read in a different form. After 11 years, Attack on Titan has finally ended. I can't say that the series was consistently good because I couldn't be bothered with the plot of Seasons 1-3. I only liked it after the ending of Season 3. Without diving too much into spoilers, Season 3's ending changed everything. It changed its direction, it changed its themes, and it changed its genre. Thus, the only part I was really invested in was Season 4. Now, the ending. Isayama completely botched it.. Important plot lines were left unanswered and the endings for certain characters felt flat. Characters were taking decisions that did not align with their individual moralities and personalities. The thematic conclusion fizzled out, leaving me even more confused than I was about the thematic direction Attack on Titan was selecting. But whatever, I've never cared a
